Hot Chocolate Bar

I was in charge of my family Christmas party this year. Because there are a bunch of us, we had the party at our church building. We had a fun dinner of all appetizers, then we watched the movie "Tangled" on a big screen with a projector. I rented a big popcorn machine and had tons of candy on hand for the movie. It was a whole lot of fun. It was a nice and relaxing evening for everyone during such a busy time of year.
I also had a Hot Chocolate Bar which everyone seemed to love. I saw the idea on Pinterest, and knew it would be a really fun addition to the party. Here is a list of what I included on the bar:
  • Stephens Hot Chocolate Mix
  • Stephens Cider mix (because my mom can't have chocolate)
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Mini Peppermint Marshmallows
  • Cans of Whipped Cream
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Crushed Andes Mints
  • Crushed Candy Canes
  • Crushed Whoppers
  • Crushed Heath Candy Bars
  • Rolos

Brazilian Lemonade

If you have ever been to a Brazilian Grill type restaurant (like Rodizio or Tucanos), and fallen in love with their lemonade, than you will love this recipe.  It is SO yummy.  For those of you that have never had it, it is actually a limeade, no lemons involved.  I found this recipe on allrecipes.com a couple years ago after a friend of mine talked about it on Facebook.  We were really excited to find the recipe.  We love this stuff.

Brazilian Lemonade

2 limes
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp sweetened condensed milk
3 cups water
ice

Wash limes thoroughly. Cut off the ends and slice into eight wedges. Place limes in a blender with the sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and water.  Blend in an electric blender. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove any little bits of the rinds that are left. Pour back into the blender and blend again with some ice. Serve over ice.
