Aren't these so cute? I made a bunch of these for my little boy's preschool graduation last week. They were super simple. I bought "fruit by the foot" to make the tassels thinking that would be the easiest way to make them. It was simple, but when I opened them, they weren't solid, they were scored so that you could tear them into shapes. Know what I mean? I looked specifically for a box that I thought was solid, but then they weren't. So that added a little complication to the process. So, if I make these again, I will buy fruit roll-ups and make the tassels with those. I got the idea from Family Fun, and they suggested rolling out a starburst and using that for the tassel. Fruit roll-ups seem a lot easier than that!
Grad Caps
Miniature Peanut Butter Cups
Chocolate frosting
square or rectangle chocolate covered cookies or graham crackers
(I used Western Family Chocolate Mint Cookies)
Fruit Roll-ups
Place a miniature peanut butter cup, bottom up, on a plate. Top with a small dollop of frosting then press on a chocolate-covered cookie/graham cracker.
For a tassel, tightly roll up a small square of fruit leather. Cut fringe on one end and attach the other end to the center of the graham cracker with another dab of frosting

Candy Filled Brownie Bites
I hesitate to let you know where I got this recipe/idea. My friend Aly Goalen has this amazing recipe blog, that makes me completely embarrassed about this blog. Aly's is professional and beautiful. If you want to check it out, the address is somekindofdelicious.blogspot.com. Everything Aly does is amazing!
These are a great little treat. I have made them for 2 family functions now, one with the Rogers and one with the Walkers. Sorry that the pictures aren't great. I forgot at the first function, and took hurried snapshots at the second one. In the future my hurried snapshots will still look ok though, because we got a new, super fancy, high-tech, (the kind I will never really know how to use) camera for Christmas. So, bear with me for a few more posts of below average pictures. I haven't taken any food pictures with the new camera yet (I haven't cooked a single thing since we got it) but they will be coming.
Candy Filled Brownie Bites
1 box brownie mix
Rolos and/or Reeses
Mix brownie mix according to directions on package. Place mini cupcake liners in a mini-muffin tin. Fill each one about 2/3 full. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Press candy in tops of each brownie as soon as you remove them from the oven. Makes between 3 and 4 dozen.

Peanut Butter Bars
I got this recipe from my friend Jaime Griffiths. I made peanut butter bars for years from a different recipe, but since I got this one from Jaime, it is the only one I have made. They are super yummy and one of Steve's very favorites.
Peanut Butter Bars
3/4 lb softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 Tbsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups flour
3 cups oatmeal
mix butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter, then add dry ingredients. Spread on cookie sheet (jelly roll pan) and bake at 325 degrees for 20 min, or until the top is barely brown. Cool then frost with chocolate frosting.
