A few years ago, I found London Broil on sale for super cheap, so I bought a couple of them. I brought them home, but had no clue how to cook one. I found a recipe that seemed really simple on the Kraft website. I made a few changes, and added a few ingredients to the recipe, and have made it often since. You could probably use this marinade for any kind of steak.
London Broil
1 envelope Italian Dressing Mix
1 garlic clove, minced
2 Tbsp water
1/2 tsp chicken bullion granules
2 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 beef london broil (1-1/2 lb.)
Whisk together first 6 ingredients. Score steak on both sides, being careful not to cut more than 1/8 inch into each side of steak. Place steak in shallow dish (such as a 9x13 pan). Brush both sides of steak evenly with the salad dressing mixture; cover. Refrigerate 3-4 hours to marinate. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade.
Preheat broiler. Broil, 2 to 3 inches from heat, for 6 to 7 min. on each side for medium doneness (160°F). (or cook on the grill!) With knife slanted, cut steak across the grain into thin slices.
